The Power of Cerulean

The Power of Cerulean. What on earth does that mean?
Well, it was actually inspired by a hilarious quote/monologue by Meryl Streep from one of my favorite fashion movies, The Devil Wears Prada. In that particular scene, Andy snorts as Miranda tries to decide between two very "similar" turquoise belts. Miranda goes on to mock Andy's attempt of being a nonconformist in the fashion world, and goes on a ranting lecture about the history of the color cerulean. In short, Miranda manages to connect Andy's shapeless blue sweater to some of the most established fashion houses in the world.

And quite frankly, I love that.

It just shows how fashion and trends just can't be ignored. You can't push them away, because as Coco Chanel once said, "Fashion is not something that exists in dresses only. Fashion is in the sky, in the street, fashion has to do with ideas, the way we live, what is happening."
